Southern Girls ~ DT ~ Childhood Memories

Good morning Blogging Beauties,

Time for another challenge at Southern Girls, don't the weeks just fly by.
This is the first time I have submitted a LO for Southern Girls, but the theme "Childhood Memories" goes so well with a LO.  I used the digi "Craft Artist" program to make me LO and yes, it is a picture of me back in 1980.
This week we want to see your projects featuring a "Childhood Memories" theme.
We have 2 sweet sponsors this challenge, thank you very much to Heather and Sammi for their support. Make sure and go and check out their websites and all the goodies they have for sale.

International Sponsor
Heather Ellis is an illustrator from England and she has the very sweet "Pure Innocence" images availble in her Web Shop and in her ETSY store. Easy to colour and totally cute, if you love images of children you will love these!

NZ - AUS Sponsor

Mad for Markers is an Australian based webstore selling Copic Markers in Australia and New Zealand. We are also happy to ship the wonderful Xpress GraphX blending Card overseas if people are interested. We LOVE Copic markers and want to help others to buy them and use them well :D

While I am on the baby theme I wanted to post a set of Baby girl cards I made awhile ago now.  (This is not part of the Southern Girls Challenge - this is just me sharing some cards.)

We always sell out of baby girl cards first at my store Aussie Cards for Sale and are left with baby boy cards...I wonder why.  These are all given away and sold by now.  My favourite was the second card with bits of green.  My Mum bought this card.

I have decided to step down from the Paper Play DT and Let's Ink it Up DT.  It was a difficult decision to make, but I was just not finding enough time to keep up with so many cards.
Now I will just be focusing on Mad for Markers and Southern Girls and Aussie Cards for Sale.
I think that will be more realistic.  Especially since Aussie Cards for Sale is keeping me very busy at the moment which is fantastic!!

I have a day of card-making ahead of me.
heaps of special orders to pump out so I better get on with it!
I hope you have a lovely day.

My Candy Winner, Some New Candy and a Pretty Card...

Hi Blogging Beauties,
I am so happy to announce the winner of my Magnolia Candy today...put up some new candy and share a pretty card with you.

First up the card....

I made this for a lady in my Florist Course who is a bridesmaid in this wedding and the colours for the wedding are purple and aqua.  So she wanted a purple and aqua card.  I was happy with how it turned out.  I think the colours are very pretty.

Secondly the winner of my latest candy is....

CAROL!!!!!!

Congratulations Carol, I will post this little angel Maggie out to you asap!

Finally my new candy.  A little change on the Maggies...but I have more stamps on order...I have signed up for the new Maggie Stamp Club specifically for candy purchases.  Cant wait till they arrive so I can share them with you!!  But today I have something a little bit different.  Some SU Watercolour Crayons.  These have hardly been used.  I purchased them and played with them just a little, but since I bought my Copics they have been unloved.  I would love to give them to someone who might like to have a try with a little watercolour magic!  All you need to go with them is a paint brush with water, or you can use the aqua painter from SU or the Blender pen.

As you can see they really are almost brand new.
To use them you touch the tip of the crayon with your brush or blender pen and then colour your image.  Alternatively you can apply the crayon to the paper and then use a brush to spread the colour.

If you would like to enter all you need to do is sign up as a follower and leave a comment on this post.  You dont have to re-post it on your blog, so it will only take you a few moments before you hop off somewhere else!

I choose the winners the old-fashioned "name out of a hat way".

Thanks for popping by,

Alicia xx

For my creation today I have made a birthday card for my neice Charlotte who turns six years old on Saturday.
I used my Greeting Farm stamp - Hats off to Anya that I bought from the Mad for Markers online store.
I coloured her hair in brown and I made my own flower out of white chiffon that I coloured with my Copics to match the colours of the card.

Please excuse the light in my photos.  Unfortunately it is very bleak and wintry here and the sun is no where to be seen : (

Once you have completed the hop please leave a comment and vote for your favourite creations... and you and the person you voted for might receive a little surprise prize!!  When voting you have to consider the following criteria:

M4M Marker's Brown Hair Challenge

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I am excited to share this card with you today.  I made this is as a special order for a friend to give to her boyfriend for his 30th Birthday.  I coloured the man in the image with brown hair and I also gave the dog brown fur as well.  I distressed it all and "roughed it up" as much as I could.  Carl has a green ute in real life and a dog so this Kenny K image was perfect.

This card used a lot of Copics...
Browns: E47, E37, E35, E33
Skin: E11, E00
Reds: R29, R59, RV29
Greens: YG11, YG06, YG23

Greys: C-0, C-1, C-3, C-5, C-7
Black 100

Over at Mad for Marker's the challenge is to colour brown hair.
Easy peasy...so why not link up here.
Do you know about the awesome prize for this challenge?
A couple of brown Copic Markers to add to your collection.

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Anything Goes is the challenge this fortnight at Southern Girls.  How easy is that!!

I made my card for my Mum for Mother's Day.
She loved this card.
I coloured with Copics:

I made these flowers with felt paper, kindy glitz and pearls.

The sad news is that Milly our goat had to be put down by the vets today.
Ben and I are devastated.
We dont know why she was sick.  It has been a very traumatic day.
We planted a tree in her memory.
We loved her very much.

Mad For Markers ~ DT ~ Brown Hair Colour

Hi Blogging Beauties,

So over at Mad for Markers this fortnight the challenge is colouring brown hair.  Brown copics are actually my favourite to colour hair with.  I was asked to make a card for a friend of my sisters and she wanted to include her three kiddies on the front.  I was so happy when I double checked and found out they all had brown hair! I knew I could then use this card for the current challenge.  Now the prize is a couple of brown Copic Markers.  So you should definitely enter!!!

Head on over here to link up your card.

I appologise for the night-time pics, but the day has got away from me a little today.

The Copics I used are:

Hair: E47, E37, E35, E33, E31
Skin: E00, E21, R20
Blues: B97, B32, B95, B00, BG05, B05
Pinks: RV06, RV04, RV42
Yellows: Y15, Y08, Y02

There is lots of yummy inspiration.

Digital Scrapbooking Layouts

Hi Blogging Beauties,

You might recognise these photos from before when I blogged them.
Last night I had a little play and scrapped them digitally using Daisy Trail Craft Artist.
I am really enjoying just having a little play on the computer with this free program.
Its a very cheap hobby digital scrapbooking and if you dont like it you can just press undo and start again.  Also it doesnt take very long...Think you might like a try?

We went to Ben's parents for lunch today and stayed warm and snuggled in by the fire.
It was a good catch up and we spent hours looking at some old family photos.

I hope you had a lovely day and thanks for visiting.

Sea Themed and 80 Years

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend (those in Aus) it is very chilly, but so nice to stay home and snuggle up, watch movies, read and make cards.
I made these two cards as a special order.
Two male 80th Birthdays with a sea theme.
Did my  best.
I made a couple of plain 80ths first and hated them so these are my second go.
I ended up being relatively happy with them.
Anyway the lady liked them and bought them so that is the main thing!

Has anyone read the book the Bark Cutters by Nicole Alexander?
I finished it today.
(Carol this is a great Aussie read if you are interested.)
I loved it and found myself really relating to the story.
I thoroughly recommend it, especially if your family owns a farm that has been passed down through the generations.  I am keen to start the sequel asap.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks for visiting,

Alicia xx

Paper Play DT ~ Father's Day/Man's Card and a Florist Bouquet

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Today is Thursday and it is Paper Play Day!
This week the challenge is to make a male card or a Father's Day Card.
I had a go at my Father's Day card...not very pretty I know...I tried to make it masculine.
You should have a look here for the wonderful Design Team inspiration and to link up your card.

Here is a bouquet I made a few weeks back at the florist course.  I am still going and learning heaps.  It is lots of fun.

Good news about my Nan she is off a lot of medication and improving so much!
It is so good to have her back with us.

I hope you are having a happy week.

Mad for Markers ~ DT ~ Tag Sketch

Hi Copic Lovers,

Here is a very original 30th Birthday Card.
I made it following our Mad for Markers sketch for the tag, but turned it into a card.
This was a special order for a friend.
She wanted a black and white 30th B'day card with a hint of red and a green tree frog.
I think I went a little overboard on the "hint of red".  Never mind.
I rolled my own paper flowers and added pearl centres.
I paper pieced the present and added a real red ribbon.
I stuck on some eyes.
It certainly is a different card...I hope my friend likes it and I hope the girl receiving the card likes it too!

I coloured with the following Copic markers:

Reds: R59, R27
Greens: G05, G14, YG03, YG06
Black 100, C-7 and C-1

Have you been checking out the Mad for Markers challenge site every day for some inspiration?
The DT have done an amazing job on this tag sketch.
The entries for our challenge are amazing too!
Why not have a try at the sketch this week.

Happy Colouring : )
